Liberate School

Education in formal schools is often the culprit that insists on memorising than comprehension, on compliance than curiosity, and on framing than liberating. The 'Mukt Shala' is an initiative to liberate education from its own walls. Lokpanchayat runs these liberate schools in 20 villages where children are encouraged to enquire, experiment, and learn from nature. Scientific experiments, farming experiments, inquest in social issues, and joyful activities mark these schools.

The Mukt Shalas have inspiring stories of how children could contribute to change in social realities. The enquiry by children in the bad conditions of village roads, in the bad habits of tobacco chewing, and many other issues have resulted in bringing actual change in the grownups of the village. These schools build the capacities of children to enquire, comprehend, and experiment.

Lokpanchayat also runs kindergarten (Balwadi) in two places specially for children from deprived communities.
